Miss Hoa Khoi 2019: Tien Le

“Hoa Khoi Lien Truong has really changed my life. From the moment I thought about applying to the moment when I was on stage with the girls. The little Vietnamese girl I was two years ago would never have guessed that I could some day be able to achieve things like this, and that shows how much potentials we all have, even thought we may not see it at the moment. The whole experience was so amazing not only because of my self-discovery, but also the people that I met including the beautiful fellow hoa khoi sisters, the officers, and all the others that helped us through this journey. Everyone’s kindness, bravery, and uniqueness motivated me to reflect on myself and try to be a better person. Now that the journey has ended, I miss the Monday practices, the panic from forgetting my heels, and just simple having all 16 girls together. But at the end of the day, I came out of HK feeling more confident not only in myself as a person, but also in my identity as a Vietnamese girl in the Vietnamese community here. I feel empowered. Thank you HK. Thank you my sisters.”
