Hoa Khôi Liên Trường 2023: “The New Moon (Phases of You)”

Hoa Khôi Liên Trường is VSAUW's biennial intercollegiate cultural pageant for young Vietnamese women. With a night of dance performances, skits, talent showcases, and more, our twelve contestants will expand on what it means for their identities to intersect with their lives by addressing the different challenges they face in their interpersonal relationships and society. This year’s theme “Phases of You” surrounds the moon. It is a crucial part of the solar system; a vital part of nature that shines on its own and is capable of eclipsing dominating forces that try to block out its light. This year’s Hoa Khôi Liên Trường guides our contestants through the phases of their personal identities and illuminates their presence in the vast world they occupy. Uplifting our identities as women is a life-long journey that includes perseverance, ambition, and self-advocacy. Our contestants are unwavering, taking up space in the world and moving out of the shadow to become a fuller version of themselves.
